This is a two part workshop, set two weeks apart.
Running from 9.30am till 1.30pm on the 1st day, and a 9.30am start on the 2nd day for approximately 2 hrs or so to finish off your piece/s.
On the 1st day you are designing and carving your wax model (you can choose to make a ring, earrings or a pendant in this workshop) which is then sent off site to be cast into silver, the 2nd day (2 weeks later) you will receive your piece of jewellery to finish with filing, sanding & polishing, stamping, hammering or patina techniques.
One of the oldest jewellery-making methods that dates back to the 3rd century BC. The lost wax casting process is still used to this day and is very popular.
In this workshop you’ll be learning the art of Lost Wax Carving. This is the best method for making organic style rings, chunky rings or signet rings or create a pair of earrings or a pendant instead!
Get as creative as you like using different types of wax and carving tools to turn your design into the real deal!
Up to 15gms of silver is provided for your piece/s of jewellery as well as a casting fee, should you choose to make another ring to be cast just an additional casting fee and cost for extra silver is required.
You’ll have an apron and all the tools you need provided on the day! Morning tea, coffee and cake provided.
Feel free to add a cheese/grazing box &cheesecake package to the experience to be enjoyed on day 1 of the workshop.
