This workshop runs for 4 hours, from 9.30am to 1.30pm.

In this half day workshop you'll learn the technique of Sand Casting to create your own ring, using delft clay.
This method is great for a hands on experience! Giving you the skills to be able to cast your own jewellery.
You’ll be using a resin ring model to create a mould using delft clay, and melting the 925 silver to cast your ring.
Best for simple rings with little detail and no undercuts. You can keep the very organic and grainy detail or refine to a polished finish.
The focus of this workshop is on the sandcasting method itself. Therefore, the resin ring mould is provided instead of carving one from wax, as this would take additional time.
In the time frame, you should be able to cast 2 rings and finish them by filing, sanding & polishing. If both your castings are successful castings then you take them both home! But be assured you won't go home empty handed, we will make sure you get atleast one!!!
Up to 15gms of silver is included on the day. An additional fee for extra silver will be required paid per gram extra for anything over your allowance.
TALVI provides an apron, safety glasses and all the materials and tools needed on the day as well as tea/coffee/hot chocolate supplies.
Feel free to bring snacks and a water bottle and take advantage of the many cafes in the area for lunch afterward.
